This painting is a work in acrylic on canvas made by combining elements from two reference photographs supplied by the subject, who happens to be my sister's partner.
The snapshot was taken on the first day of a holiday trip to Greece so it was important to try and capture the sense of having just arrived and their experience of taking in the ambiance of the poolside bar in the bright sunshine.
There is a distinct 'reportage' feel to the painting and I have kept the brushwork quite loose and expressive throughout to convey a feeling of energy and life.
